This page describes the SupportLine voice AI demo for K Studio Haircuts For Men.
How to access the assistant
Dial 1-209-209-2490 to talk to the assistant. You’ll be placed on-hold while the assistant wakes up. The phone call will start ringing and you’ll be connected to the AI assistant, Alice.
Feel free to chat with Alice and tell me what you think (either over text message or phone call).
What can the assistant do?
Alice can:
- Answer questions about K Studio. She knows what types of haircuts are available, that the studio serves men and children, what the studio hours of operations are, the cancellation policy, accepted payment methods. This information was taken from the website.
- Answer in different languages. Alice figures out what language is being spoken to her and will reply in that language. This should work in English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, and Dutch.
- Help with booking appointments. Alice can send the booking website link via SMS to callers. She doesn’t book appointments over the phone. I wanted to avoid taking credit card information right now. Note that SMS messaging is currently disabled for the demo; Alice will say that she is sending the text message but she actually won’t. Note that Alice will end the call after “sending the text message”.
- Accept multiple phone calls at once. Since Alice isn’t a person, she can be more than one call at a time. For demo purposes, this is limited to 2 simultaneous calls.
Things that are changeable
Almost everything about Alice can be changed:
- her name
- her voice (masculine, feminine, tone, style, word choices).
- her phone number (to any unused phone number capable of voice and text)
- her workflows (i.e. she doesn’t need to hang up after accepting a phone-number-to-SMS for booking an appointment)
Stuff I’m working on next
- Transfer the call to a person: forwarding the call to another number like calling Ariel’s cell phone. If asked, Alice will say that she can transfer you to a stylist. She can’t. She thinks she can, but that work isn’t fully baked yet.
- Use caller ID to suggest sending the booking SMS to that number; less steps for the caller to do. If the caller asks to book an appointment, then Alice firsts suggests if she can SMS the caller’s phone number that they’re calling with. If the caller declines, then she’ll ask for a suitable cell phone number.
